On the shore of the Lough Neagh, at the Ballyronan Marina. The image above captures a close-up view of the hare, which emerged momentarily after I inadvertently frightened the buzzard away while attempting to capture a close-up of it perched on a long tree. While we are enjoying unusually dry and sunny weather during the 2nd half of March and now into April, it was only a couple of months ago that we had a beautiful frosty sunrise.
Battery Harbour is the most “central” harbour on Lough Neagh, with roughly equal distances to all four corners of the lake; for this reason, one of the two Lough Neagh Rescue stations is located here. When I decided to walk down to Manor Park after taking a stroll around Moneymore on that icy evening, the image above was a welcome surprise as I crossed the road bridge. In particular, the newly installed pathway lamps and the white dusting of snow seemed to enhance the beauty of Manor Park.
