Wet Autumn Morning Walk in the Countryside, October 2025
The autumn morning walk took place a day after a particularly heavy downpour on Sunday. The autumn season is a great time to go out, especially with its colourful weather and landscape.

The image above captures a close-up view of the hare, which emerged momentarily after I inadvertently frightened the buzzard away while attempting to capture a close-up of it perched on a long tree. I took a stroll around the Drum Manor Forest Park. It is less than 4 miles from Cookstown, County Tyrone, on the A505 road to Omagh. There are many different walking and hiking routes, a walled garden, and a children’s play park.

Kinnego is the other rescue station, southeast of Lough Neagh. The best view of Lough Neagh is probably from Battery…
I have just managed to capture a full-body image of a brown hare, especially without the grass covering its feet. Its appearance is different from the Irish hare; I wasn’t even aware of the difference in species of hares in the UK/Ireland! See my other post on Irish hare; they seemed to have shorter ears…
Springhill, located on the edge of Moneymore, offers a delightfully colourful autumn walk. One of my favourite ‘sweet & short’ casual walks. There are plenty of intriguing footpaths to explore, as well as some fascinating trees and plants to view.
